Boonton Mayor James Lynch’s veto did not silence the vibrancy and energy that Boonton Rainbow Pride organizers brought out to Grace Lord Park to celebrate Pride Month. Lynch, who vetoed the Town Council's 5-4 vote to fly the Pride flag at Grace Lord Park, was absent as Boonton residents and visitors gathered under sunny skies for a day filled with music, art, and expression.
From interactive flag raisings to memorials honoring transgender lives lost, Boonton Rainbow Pride co-founder and co-president Lindsey Weisman and fellow organizers have kept its heart beating to provide the LGBTQ+ community a place to belong and be recognized every year during Pride Month.
