Sunah E. Choudhry is a multimedia journalist based in New Jersey. With a deep commitment to community-driven storytelling, her work captures the heart of local culture, public events, and human interest stories through powerful photojournalism, video coverage, and written features.
From documenting local protests during the rise of Black Lives Matter Movement and photographing Philip Pannell’s tree remembrance, to capturing cultural events like the Montclair Juneteenth Flag Raising, Central Desi’s art reception, and conducting impactful interviews with notable figures—such as civil rights leader Dr. Theodora Lacey, who worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—Sunah’s reporting focuses on authentic community voices and grounded visual storytelling. Dedicated to accurate, responsible journalism, she brings curiosity, empathy, and a keen eye for detail to every assignment.
Her collegiate work has been recognized with notable honors, including an Associated Press Collegiate Honorable Mention for Photography in 2019 for "Trinity Corney Breaks Boundaries with Cerebral Palsy", a first-place New Jersey Collegiate Press Award for Best Photo Slideshow (2019–2020), a New Jersey Collegiate Press Award second-place award for Best Opinion Editorial in 2019, and a first-place New Jersey Collegiate Press Award for News Writing (2018-2019). Focus: Democracy was also awarded the 2021 Fair Council Folio Award for Student Election Coverage.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading, playing basketball, and spending time with her grandmother, father, mother, and sister.
